Florida State Bird

In 2008, I wrote about the opportunity to vote for a new state bird for Florida. At that time, the Audubon Society had made several choices available for elementary students to vote on.  You can read about it here: http://wp.me/pi56K-3R.

The Mockingbird is the current state bird, as it is the state bird of several other states.  The topic of making a bird that was unique to Florida, it’s new state bird got on a roll and has continued up until now.  Follow the link below for more information about changing the state bird of Florida from the Mockingbird to the Florida Scrub Jay.  Sign the petition if you wish.
