As we sat at the Starfish Restaurant in Cortez waiting for our food order, a boat pulled up to the dock. After tying up, the 4 passengers walked up to the restaurant for their lunch. While they were gone, we watched as birds overtook the boat. The operators had left the containers of bait fish and their catch uncovered.

Pelicans, gulls and heron attacked the contents, having a feast.  Finally, the fishermen noticed and ran to the boat, shooing away the preditors and securing their inventory.

It was fun to watch.
